Hello inner sloth what can you teach me?

A beautiful soul expressed annoyance towards herself for sabotaging her desire to be healthy. To add context, this lady has a history of self-harm and takes antipsychotics for Bipolar diagnosis. After bravely healing the wounds of abuse and micro dosing psilocybin, her progress is immense. When we change deeply ingrained habits of behaviour, encountering conflict is standard. We often meet this conflict with frustration and understandingly want to banish it, as it appear’s to blocks us from achieving our ‘wholeness’. Or does it’?

I encourage people to look beyond the ‘apparent destructive behaviour’ and consider its overall positive function, assuming the unconscious is always seeking to aid our survival.

I invited her to write to the inner sloth women. She blew my mind with her reply I asked her permission to share.

Hello Sloth Woman. What do you have to teach me? I feel so many times in my life you’ve held me within you. Times when I’ve been exhausted, depressed, suicidal. You hold a place of non-action though. Held within you I don’t even have the drive to harm myself in any constructive way. I’m sure that’s a good thing though. Yours is a place of inaction but also a safety of sorts to me.

I eat often to self sooth but that feels like it really. I don’t go outside, I don’t leave the house, I don’t leave the couch, I…
