f I believed something to be true, I assumed everyone would agree, and if they didn’t, I thought they were mad, or immediately agreed with what they said, without question.

I didn’t understand there is no ultimate truth. There are some topics which the majority will accept, such as, to live we need to eat, eliminate waste and breathe in air. When we discuss religion or politics, we see others categorically see the world differently.

I recall a client sitting in my office with a scarf over her face, only showing her eyes (before COVID-19) she believed she had a terrible beard and felt embarrassed to let me see it. Eventually, she removed the scarf, and her skin was beautiful. How did she see a beard? We see what we expect to see and therefore being on your toes with your thinking pays dividends.

Most of the stuff you think to be true probably isn’t true, it might be 97% but not 100% true. The way we see the world is a habit inherited from our parents or caregivers and our culture. We become accustomed to seeing things in the way society accepts and applauds, think differently and you will be locked up and drugged.

I’m usually considered as weird by others, I wasn’t keen on this title until I realised how the herd thought, and then realised I was a blessed weirdo loner at heart, I’m at peace with that.

Our beliefs shape our perception, Robert Anton Winston, said

‘We have a thinking mind, and a proving mind, and whatever the thinking minds thinks, the proving mind proves.’
